Leah Carmo is a licensed psychotherapist in the state of Florida. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master’s degree in education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has been an adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College, and at Palm Beach Atlantic University in the Graduate Counseling Program. She holds certifications in PREPARE/ENRICH, Couple Communication, and EMDR as a level 2 trained trauma specialist. She has worked as a primary therapist, and group facilitator in intensive outpatient programs for clients suffering from addiction and eating disorders. At the Palm Beach Atlantic University Counseling Center, Leah served the undergraduate population as a mental health therapist.
Leah is a certified Neurogistics practitioner, using neurotransmitter (brain chemistry) testing and evaluation as part of a holistic healing process. Her special interests include a brain science approach to treatment, along with spirituality, offering an integrative approach to therapy. She is a member of Journey Church South Florida, where she serves in a leadership position for the women’s ministry. Leah is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the American Mental Health Counselors Association. Currently, she is working in her private practice with Island Counseling Group, Palm Beach, Florida.
