Whether you serve others as a career choice, or you volunteer your time, serving others can be rewarding, but also draining.
Are you a servant leader experiencing burnout, personal and family problems, crisis of faith, low motivation, depression or anxiety?
You are NOT alone.
As a church leader actively involved in ministry and as therapist serving my community, I KNOW what it feels like to try to give something that has dried up within me.
When so many are depending on you, looking up to you, relying on you, who takes care of YOU?
Today, I can help you optimize your wellbeing, providing professional guidance to resolve and restore areas that have resulted in stunted growth, mental, emotional and spiritual burnout, strained relationships, and a host of other challenges that often arise from serving without intentional self care.
My name is Sarah Serrano and I will be your a therapist at Bienestar Counseling & Education.
I have over 15 years experience working in the behavioral health field, which encompasses all contributions to mental wellness, including substances and their abuse, behavior, habits, and other external factors.
This clinical experience enables me to help you if you are facing stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief & loss, addiction, and situational crisis, among other emotional and mental health concerns.
I am very passionate about the intersection between spirituality and mental-emotional wellbeing. My experience as a ministry leader and professional therapist has given me the opportunity to understand and meet the needs of those who serve others. I believe that there is no personal history, hurt, behavior, or problem that God cannot use to strengthen you and empower you to lead a healthy well-balanced life.
I believe in the power of prayer, that there are answers in the Bible, and that God’s grace is made perfect in our weaknesses. I also firmly believe that God can give wisdom and discernment to counselors as we walk beside you during your journey to a place of mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
My practice philosophy is founded on the understanding that God is an integral part of our wellbeing, and that our journey is unique and personal.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work along with Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling from Florida International University. My undergraduate degrees are in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.
