In the Bible it says to consider it pure joy when we face trials (James 1:2), but it is very difficult to take that perspective when we are in the middle of the trial! It is my passion to come alongside believers who are struggling in the midst of a trial, difficulty, or with making important life decisions. God has called me to be a counselor to His people, to help them when they are struggling with the disappointments in life, struggling to see God in the midst of difficulties, to give comfort, encouragement, and guidance as well as to help them gain insight and understanding of themselves, God, and this world.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I completed my Master’s degree at Regent University in Virginia, where the Christian faith is integrated into professional counseling curriculum. I have been counseling teenagers, adults, and families for the past eleven years. I have helped people with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship and family issues, decision-making and problem-solving, spiritual confusion, spiritual re-connection, and attachment issues. I have also helped people improve their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth by understanding how God sees them.
My counseling style is warm, genuine, and compassionate. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques that incorporate cognitive-behavioral and strength-based approaches. I believe the most important aspect of counseling is a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, cared for, and empowered to make the changes necessary to improve your life.
I look forward to coming alongside you as you make this important step to improve your well-being! We have hope for positive change as we believe ” greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
